A small container can bring a little nature into a home. Keeping it healthy, however, takes more than choosing attractive plants. Light, water, humidity, substrate and airflow all influence what happens inside.

Our content explores those relationships so readers can make more informed decisions about their own setups.

What you will find here

Our articles cover:

  • Building and maintaining open and closed terrariums.
  • Choosing plants for different containers and growing conditions.
  • Growing and caring for moss.
  • Understanding aquatic plants and their care.
  • Troubleshooting plant problems, excess moisture and other common issues.
  • Choosing containers, substrates, lighting and maintenance tools.
  • Finding ideas for miniature gardens and indoor displays.

We aim to explain both the practical steps and the reasons behind them. An aquarium, a sealed tropical jar and an open succulent bowl have different requirements, even when they share some materials or plants.

The founder

Terrarium Master was founded by Tahsin Al Habib. His interest in plants developed through family experiences in Bangladesh. After moving to Killarney, Ireland, in 2023, indoor gardening and terrariums became a way to continue that interest in a smaller growing space.

How the website is funded

Terrarium Master is built around publishing content. Advertising and affiliate commissions are its intended sources of income. When advertising appears, or an article includes affiliate links, these support the continued operation of the website.

An eligible purchase through an affiliate link may earn us a commission at no additional cost to the buyer. Our Affiliate Disclosure explains this further.

Our approach

We aim to make our articles clear, practical and specific to the growing environment. Research-based guidance and personal observations should be distinguishable, and product coverage should explain its basis rather than imply testing that did not occur.

Read our Editorial Policy for our publishing standards.
